RESIDENCIES: 

Some, such as the Kimmel Harding Nelson in Nebraska pay their writers weekly stipends of $100 or more; others charge $15-$75 a day (though scholarships are generally available). Still others like Yaddo, MacDowell, UCross, and Art Omni International are free but highly competitive.
